There are many different areas I visited in these countries and to many to name lets just say I am well travelled.
I get asked a lot where was my favourite place and to be honest every destination I have been lucky enough to travel to has been amazing but for some reason there are two which spring to mind when I’m asked.

Hong Kong is the first and that goes back to when I was a little girl with a big green children’s encyclopaedia which had a picture in it of Hong Kong and the Junk boats. I remember thinking how strange the sails looked it was so oriental. My dream came through twice I visited the country in 2009 on my round the world in 30 days trip but never managed to sail on one of these boats. So I did what anyone would do if at first you don’t succeed try again and I did on my way to Bali in 2018 I stopped in Hong Kong for 3 nights where I finally fulfilled my childhood dream. I remember sitting on the deck with my feet on with the gold reebok runners I had bought earlier sipping my cold glass of wine watching the symphony of lights thinking life doesn’t get better than this.

The second is Sri Lanka this country has what is hard to describe as a mystical magical mystique about it. We were doing a hotel inspection one evening and when we walked out under the starry sky there was an old gentle man playing a whistle and the sound just carried across the night sky it was like a taste of heaven. Then back at the hotel we were staying in one night I was the last person in the pool my body floating with my ears submerged in the warm water looking up at the sky which was dancing with all the twinkling stars.

I think memories are made of feelings it is much easier to remember something if there is a feeling attached to it and both these memories had strong emotional connections for me.
